Objectives

This call will contribute to efficient solutions for rans-European awareness and accessibility of digital resources of European heritage, increasing their cross-border visibility, use and take-up and realising their full economic and/or societal potential.

Actions selected under this call should result in concrete tools to improve the end-user experience of Europeana, and/or in innovative products or services re-using the material accessible through Europeana across several sectors, from education and research, to tourism and creative industries.
 

Actions

Proposals must address all of the following:

  • Demonstrate a European dimension, either through the overarching theme, targeted audience and/or participating organisations, and/ or by aiming to increase the cross-border use of cultural material by end users and/or third parties.
  • Demonstrate the user potential for the proposed tools, pro ducts or services, defining target users and their needs. Applicants must foresee arrangements to gather and analyse information during the project lifecycle on the use and appreciation of the developed tools, products or services, enabling them to deliver a post-project business case by the end of the project.
  • Proposals must demonstrate their ability and plan for communicating the resulting tools, products or services to target users.
  • Demonstrate interoperability with the Europeana DSI Core Service platform and make use of the Europeana APIs for the development of external tools, products or services that use Europeana data.
  • Highlight the innovative aspects of the proposed tools, products or services and show how these will significantly improve the user experience and use of the Europeana Core Service Platform.
  • Conform to Europeana's standards and guidelines, including the Europeana Data Model, Media Policy, Content Strategy, Publishing Guide, Policy, and Product Specifications for Thematic Collections.
  • Guarantee the maintenance and susta inability of the resulting tools, products or services for at least two years after the end of the project.
  • Promote interoperability and use open standards and protocols, open formats, open source and cross-platform approaches

European community funding

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 2,00 Million EUR (Global Budget)
