Commission supports with EUR 3,5 million European Researchers' Night

The European Commission has published a call for proposals under the work programme "People 2010" of the  Seventh Framework Programme, to finance with EUR 3.5 million the celebration of European Researchers' Night 2010, an initiative to approach science and citizens

The Official Journal of the European Union of 13 October 2009 has published a call for proposals under the Specific programme "People" implementing the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities.

The call FP7-PEOPLE-NIGHT-2010 aims aims to bring the researchers closer to the public at large, so enhancing their role in the mainstream of society. To this end, Commission funds coordination and support actions for the European Researchers' Night, an event that has been held anually since 2005 and each year increases its success.

European Researchers’ Night is an invitation for the public to meet researchers, learn about their work and the skills involved, and get a better understanding of what they deal with everyday in their quest to expand our knowledge and make technological progress.

The budget for the call is 3.5 million, and the deadline for sending proposals is 13 January 2010.
