The European Commission has published several calls for proposals in various thematic areas of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), under three of the specific programmes that develop it: Cooperation, Capacities and Ideas. 

The Official Journal of the European Union of July 30th 2009 includes the publication of 51 call for proposals about the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities.

The calls are under three of the specific programmes that develop this framework for research and technological development between 2007 and 2013: Cooperation (36 calls), Ideas (one call) and Capacities (14 calls). Cordis website contains documentation on all of these calls. 

Thematic areas under the Cooperation Specific Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities include:

  Calls under the Capacities Specific Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities are dedicated to the following Themes:

Finally, the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Independent Researcher Grants are intended to support up-and-coming research leaders who are about to establish or consolidate a proper research team and to start conducting independent research in Europe. This call develops the Ideas Specific Programme for research, technological development and demonstration activities
