European Future Technologies's event on bridging different disciplines
The European Future Technologies Conference (FET) will take place next 4-6 of May in Budapest and its registration is still open until 28 of April. The conference, as well as an exhibition, it is aimed to be an European forum which facilitates international cross-disciplinary dialogue and discussion on visions and challenges for frontier research in future and emerging information technologies.
After the successful FET conference held in 2009 in Prague, the European Future Technologies Conference and Exhibition 2011 (FET) is the second time of a new forum dedicated to frontier research in information and communication technologies. With this goal, it will involve key policy makers, and features a mix of panel discussion, keynote speakers, scientific sessions, and posters sessions. The FET Conference focusses on bridging disparate disciplines and communities, and fostering the interplay between science, policy and society.
FET 2011 is organised within the EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development and based on a radically new visions of what can be done and grounded in scientifically valid ideas how to make major steps towards achieving such visions. FET funded projects increasingly rely on fresh synergies, cross-pollination and convergence with different scientific disciplines and with the arts and humanities. This transdisciplinary research requires new attitudes and novel organisational models in research and education.
Besides the conference, an exhibition will present the latest research developments in future and emerging information technologies
