Brussels hosts a conference in urban development and dialogue

A three day conference will take place to mark the closure of the MED-PACT programme and kick-off the successor CIUDAD (Cooperation in Urban Development and Dialogue) programme.

MED-PACT and CIUDAD (Cooperation in Urban Development and Dialogue) are both designed to forge partnerships between local partners in the EU and the European Neighbourhood (ENPI) countries, by developing their capacities to work together to resolve common problems.

The event brings together representatives of local government, civil society, universities and research institutes who, over the next three years, will implement a total of 21 projects, each in a minimum of two partner countries.

The event will present the different projects, share lessons learned from MED-PACT, and look at support mechanisms and systems to help the partners forge lasting partnerships and networks, and to complete successful projects. It will take place in Charlemagne building on April 19, 20 and 21.

MED-PACT's main objective was to encourage a better comprehension between the civil society of the north and the south of the Mediterranean by developing cooperation, exchanges and dialogue between cities. It ends this year.
