The headquarters of the Information Society and Media DG host the Social Inclusion and Related Technologies Workshop, with a particular focus on social computing and inclusion.

As a follow-up to some exploratory EC research projects on the use of ICT for social inclusion of Marginalised Young People, the workshop "Social Inclusion and related technologies" will discuss the technology potential of affective / persuasive / and in particular social computing, that could contribute to new developments for further improving social inclusion and independent living in education environment and at workplace.

This conference is under the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, a one-year Europe-wide programme to raise awareness of poverty and social exclusion among civil society, national governments and the public at large.
