The Commission has issued new calls for proposals for the audiovisual sector
The European Commission has published two calls for proposals for MEDIA 2007 to support the European audiovisual sector. The first (EACEA/23/09) concerns audiovisual festivals which take place in countries benefiting from this program and the second (EACEA/18/09) to development, distribution, promotion and training in the sector.
This programme is pursuing the goal of promoting transnational broadcasting of European audiovisual works produced by independent production companies, by encouraging cooperation between broadcasters and independent producers and distributors.
The planned activities are the following:
EACEA/23/09: Subsidize audiovisual festivals which activities contribute to achieving the above objectives and in which all programming is displayed at least 70% of European films from at least ten of the countries participating in the program MEDIA. The budget for this programme is 3.5M euros. Depending on de area, the deadlines are:

EACEA/18/09: Subsidize independent European television productions (drama, animation or creative documentary) involving at least three broadcasters from several Member States of the European Union and countries participating in the MEDIA 2007. Its budget is 10.4M euros, and the deadlines, depending on the area too:
