The European Commission shows commitment to developing the future Internet

Brussels hosts the Information Day on the objective 1.2 of the ICT call under the Seventh Framework Programme. This objective aims to make an important contribution to the future of the Internet in terms of service development, management and interoperability in an environment of convergence of IT, telecommunications and media platforms.

The European Commission has submitted its Information Day on the objective 1.2 of the ICT call under the Seventh Framework Programme, thus demonstrating the strong interest we have from the Community institutions and European industry, through research Development and exceeds the space that separates them from their larger competitors who are United States and emerging countries, whose competition is getting stronger.

Crowd of attendees have expressed interest in future call, and wanted to show and share their concerns and proposals on the legal text to be published in the Official Journal of the European Union on July 31, 2009.

The call is expected to close on November 3, 2009 and will have a budget of 70 million euros.

Objective ICT-2009.1.2: Internet of Services, Software and Virtualisation covers the following aspects:

  • Service Architectures and Platforms for the Future Internet
  • Highly Innovative Service / Software Engineering
  • Coordination and support actions
