State aid for the North of England Zoological Society

The Official Journal of the European Union has published the information communicated by United Kingdom member state regarding State aid granted under Commission Regulation (EC) No 70/2001 on the application of Articles  87 and 88 of the EC Treaty to State aid to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Zoological Society are charity organisations devoted to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. The North of England Zoological Society operates Chester Zoo.

The aid instrument selected is the direct grant, with an annual budget of GBP 1,9 million for the period 31.03.2008 to 31.03.2010.

The legal basis is the Section 5 Regional Development Agencies Act 1998.
