The Directorate-General for Regional Policy, REGIO.C.3 Economic and quantitative analysis has launched a call for tender related to a study of the competences in relation to regional development policies in the Member States of the European Union.

The general purpose of this call is obtain a thorough picture of the distribution of competencies in relation to regional development - in the areas supported by the Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund - between the different administrative levels (central, regions, provinces, and municipalities) in Member States, with a particular focus on the budgetary aspects.

The study will cover as a minimum those Member States that are significant cohesion policy beneficiaries and are characterised by a multi-level institutional set-up designed for the policy interventions.

The total budget available for this study is EUR 300,000. Time limit for receipt of requests for documents or for accessing documents is the eighth October 2008.
