More than 100 experts meet in Valladolid to discuss Rural Development

On the 22nd and 23rd May 2008, Valladolid hosted over 100 professionals who took part in an internation seminar on Rural Development. The "Present and future of territorial Rural development: somewhere overthere in 2013" seminar brought together sector leaders to share their knowldege and experiences, identify common resources and searach for the tool which will allow each and everyone of them to work more efficiently, make our rural space more valuable and optimize the resources that are available.

The seminar brought together over 100 professional,  officials and members of the European Commission including Mrs. Loretta Dormal Marino Deputy Director General in charge of Directorates E.I, E.II and F from DGAGRI and Mr. Michel-Eric Dufeil Head of Unit 1 for Spain G1 from the DG Regio and other large scale organisations such as the Internacional Association Ruralité – Environnement- Développement (R.E.D.).

Men and women were present from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Portugal. Also, Local Action Groups (LAGs) from the Spanish Network for Rural development,  produced numerous questionnaires to canvass current opinion on current programmes activities and specifically on the EAFRD programme.

Semminar closed on friday with European Commission, Junta de Castilla y León, Red Estatal de Desarrollo Rural, the Internacional Association Ruralité-Environnement- Développement and Cajamar as the main sponsor of the semminar.
