The Wales European Collaboration fund

The European Commission (EC) has released notices from different member states including information regarding State aid granted under Commission Regulation (EC) No 70/2001 on the application of Articles 87 and 88 of the EC Treaty to State aid to small and medium-sized enterprises. (2008/C 88/05). One of the concerns released was the Wales European Collaboration fund with an annual budget for the aid scheme is set at 200,000 Pounds.

The EC has released more information about The Wales European Collaboration fund is an Aid scheme aimed at Small and medium-sized enterprises. From it's start date on 14th Feburary 2008, the scheme is due to complete a duration of three years (14th Feburary 2011). The scheme's organisers will dispose of an initial annual budget of 0.2 million Pounds.

 Legal basis for the aid is the Industrial Development Act 1982 and it is managed by the Welsh Assembly Government in Cardif (United Kingdom)

The Wales European Collaboration Fund provides assistance, in the form of a grant, to help applicants

  1. Develop project proposals for submission to the TSB Technology Programme and/or the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
  2. Travel overseas to negotiate FP7 contracts or Technology Transfer agreements or attend focussed conferences or exhibitions.
