The Digital Agenda for Europe is Going Local in Spain

Going Local 2011 initiative from the European Commission in the framework of the Digital Agenda has its next stop in Spain. This edition will be celebrated with two different events, one in Madrid (digital contents) and the second one in Sevilla where topics such as the spectrum, eGovernment and social innovation topics will be discussed.

The European Commission is carrying out the so-called Going Local exercise right after the publication of the Digital Agenda with the aim of 'Make your voice Make your voice heard in Europe!'. This European Commission objective is materialised with the celebration of the Going Local 2011. The next stop will take place in Spain. This is one of the initiatives which were agreed to carry out last year.

The events in Spain will be celebrated in Madrid on November 22nd and in Seville on December 1st. The key themes that will be discussed are Digital contents (Madrid), Spectrum (Seville) eGovernment (Seville) and Social Innovation (Seville). In addition, the Commission has provided a participation online in the debate which is already in place. The most voted contributions will be discussed in the live debate Seville on the 1st December.

The general objectives of the Going Local 2011 initiative are reporting on progress of the Digital Agenda, identifying challenges for the future, and stimulate actions and commitments. According to the Commission, the feedback from the 2010 visits was very positive so Commission decided to launch a second round of visits in autumn 2011 more adapted to the specific priorities in the Member States.
