Higher education institutions (HEIs) willing to participate in the cooperation activities embodied within the Erasmus Programme as part of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), can already apply for their Erasmus University Charter. According to the Specific Call for Proposals published in the OJEU, those institutions must submit their proposals by June 30th 2010.

The Erasmus University Charter must be awarded as a prerequisite for Higher education institution (HEI) to organise student mobility and teaching and other staff mobility, to carry out Erasmus intensive language courses and intensive programmes, and to apply for multilateral projects, networks, accompanying measures and to organise preparatory visits.

The Erasmus University Charter provides the general framework for the European cooperation activities a HEI may carry out within the Erasmus programme as part of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP).

According to Specific Call for Proposals EAC/19/10 Erasmus University Charter,  Higher education institutions willing to take part in the Erasmus Programme activities may apply for the Charter until June 30th 2010.

Applicants for Erasmus University Charter may be:

• Any type of higher education institution, in accordance with national legislation or practice, which offers recognised degrees or other recognised tertiary level qualifications, whatever such establishments may be called in the Member States.
• Any institution, in accordance with national legislation or practice, which offers vocational education or training at tertiary level.
