1,4 million for youth projects
The European Commission has published a call for proposals under the programme Youth in action which aims to provide support for the permanent activities of bodies active at European level in the field of youth and pursuing an aim which is of general European interest.
The call EACEA 25/09, published by the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission, aims to encourage young Europeans to participate as citizens in public life, society and in the development and implementation of European cooperation actions in the field of youth.
This call aims to develop action 4.1 of the Youth in Action European Programme: provide support for bodies active at European level in the field of youth.
To do this, the EC will select organizations for the conclusion of annual operating grant agreements covering the budget year starting in 2010. An annual grant may be awarded to help such bodies meet their operating costs.
The activities eligible for the call must have space for activities that follow the basic principles of Community action in the field of youth, such as the following:
- Represent the views and interests of young people
- Youth exchanges and voluntary service
- Actions to encourage participation and initiative of young people.
- Debates on European issues, EU policies ...
The overall budget for this call is 1.4 million, and the deadline for applications ends on 9 December 2009.
