The Commission has issued a new call for proposals under  MEDIA 2007 programme to support the European audiovisual sector. The convocation, with a budget of 12.25 million, aims to foster linkages between sectors of production and distribution.

The MEDIA 2007 programme of support for the European audiovisual sector has published a new call which aims to support the international distribution of European films. MEDIA 2007 programme aims to increase the circulation and viewership of European audiovisual works inside and outside the European Union, including through greater cooperation between players.

The call EACEA/19/09, which has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union of 29 September 2009, fosters  theatrical distribution of films and non-nationals that have been majority produced by a producer/producers established in countries participating in the MEDIA programme. It has a maximum budget of 12.25 million, and there are three deadlines to submit proposals to the Directorate-General for the Information Society and Media:
