2.1 Meuros for the EU–GCC clean energy network
The Directorate General for External Relations, Unit F2 published in the Supplement of Official Journal of the European Union of July 1, 2009 a tender for the creation of a network of clean energy.
The specific objective of the project, published in the OJ Supplement, is to create and facilitate the operation of an EU–GCC clean energy network. The network is to be set up to act as a catalyst and element of coordination for development of cooperation on clean energy, including the related policy and technology aspects among various stakeholders in the EU and GCC countries.
The activities of the network in the area of clean energy will include, inter alia:
- The exchange of experience and know-how.
- The coordination and promotion of joint actions between the EU and GCC stakeholders.
- Facilitating joint research.
- Demonstration and development, including through joint projects, of clean energy technologies in the GCC countries, and
- Providing policy support to promote and accompany these actions.
The stakeholders participating in the network will include, inter alia: energy-related research entities, universities, administrations, utilities and industry.
Proposals must be lodged with the European Commission before 10.8.2009 - 16:00:
