Commission publishes a call for proposals to improve the training of control officers of international road transport

The Commission, and in its name the Directorate-General Energy and Transport, intends to award a grant for actions aimed at improving the training of control officers responsible for the application of Community law concerning international road transport as announced in the DG TREN work programme for 2009.

This call is expected to grant a subsidy for actions to improve the training of control officers responsible for the implementation of Community law relating to international road transport, indicated by the work programme of DG TREN to 2009.

Public authorities of the Member States or private companies that are co-recipient with a public authority may apply for grants, which have a total budget of 300,000 euros. In any case a person is eligible for this subsidy.

The objective of this call for proposal is to assist the development of harmonised training modules, covered by a curriculum, for officers responsible for monitoring the application of the Community acquis in the field of road transport, in particular the social legislation relating to road transport. These modules will be designed to harmonise and improve the approach taken with regard to monitoring Community legislation.
