What is Marco Polo?
Marco Polo is the EU funding programme for freight and logistic operators that are committed to finding a new, more sustainable way to the transport of goods across Europe. Marco Polo pursues the shift of freight off the road to less polluting modes of transport, such as short-sea shipping, rail and inland waterways, while at the same time reducing the congestion on Europe's roads.
