Authorised State aid to Ireland
Information from the European Union institutions and bodies was published on 30th May 2008 concerning Authorisation State Aid to various member states under Articles 87 and 88 of the EC Treaty. One Aid scheme authorised was the Bioheat Boiler and Combined Heat and Power Deployment Programme in Ireland.
The Aid scheme started on 1st April 2007 and is due to compete a duration of just under 5 years, finishing on 31st December 2011. Under the The Sustainable Energy Act Ireland 2002, Sustainable Energy Ireland, based in Dublin, will undertake proceedings to save energy throughout all economic sectors in the country. In order to complete their goals the authority will dispose of an overal budget of 37 million euros (annual budget 7 meuros).
