Job vacancy at DG Economic and Financial Affairs
On the 27th May 2008, the DG Economic and Financial Affairs published in the Official Journal of the European Union a Publication of a vacancy for a Director of Financial operations, programme management and liaison with the EIB group.
The main role of the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN) is to foster the success of Economic and Monetary Union both inside and outside the European Union, by advancing economic policy coordination, conducting economic surveillance and providing policy assessment.
Formal requirements
- Be a citizen of one of the EU Member States.
- Hold a university degree that gives access to undertake postgraduate studies.
- Have at least 15 years' postgraduate professional experience at a level to which the qualifications referred to above give admission. At least five years of that professional experience must have been gained in a management function at high level and should have some direct experience in the financial sector.
- Have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and an adequate knowledge of another of these official languages. (Candidates should note that the selection procedures will be carried out in English, French or German only. As this might give an advantage to native speakers, these will be tested also in one or more other languages.)
Applicants should note the requirement under the Staff Regulations for all new staff to complete successfully a
nine-month probationary period.
After registering, no later than the 24th June 2008, applications should be written in either in English, French or German and sent to the commission with an attached CV and letter of motivation (maximum 8 000 characters).
