The European Commission directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities are working towards the establishment, organisation and coordination of a European network of legal experts in the field of labour law, dealing with both individual and collective rights/aspects.

The Faculty of Law at Universiteit Leiden, Leiden, Netherlands were awarded the contact. The total budget alotted is a healthy EUR 1 124 456,85, excluding VAT. This rose from the initial estimated total value for the contract of EUR 1 250 000, excluding VAT. The contract will function on a 12 month basis and will be open to renewal upto three times on the same basis.
