EU-Canada higher education programme

It has been published in the OJ (18.1.2008) a call for proposal related for the EU-Canada Programme The general objectives of the programme and of this Call are to promote mutual understanding between the peoples of the European Union and Canada including broader knowledge of their languages, cultures and institutions and to improve the quality of human resources in the European Union and Canada.

There is only one type of action under this call, namely the EU-Canada Joint Study and/or Training
Programmes. This action provides support to enable EU-Canada consortia of higher education institutions and training institutions, ‘Transatlantic Exchange Partnerships’ (TEP) to carry out joint study and training programmes and to implement student and faculty mobility.

Budget
The budget available for the co-financing of projects is estimated to be of a minimum of EUR 1,242 million. It is anticipated that approximately 9 projects will be funded in 2008. The maximum amount of funding on the EU side will be EUR 138 000 for a 3-year consortium project. Projects activities are planned to start in October 2008 and last for 36 months.

Deadline
Applications must be sent to the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency no later than 11 April 2008.
