Europa Nostra Awards 2013 are open to candidatures
The awards which celebrates exemplary restorations and initiatives of the many facets of Europe’s cultural heritage in four categories each year, is now open to submissions until 1 October 2012. Therefore, it will be awarded outstanding achievements in the field of heritage conservation and enhancement in Europe.
The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Awards is now open to entries. The awards celebrate exemplary restorations and initiatives of the many facets of Europe’s cultural heritage in four categories. Criteria for the assessment of entries include excellence in the work executed and preliminary research conducted, as well as respect for artistic, cultural and social value, setting, authenticity and integrity. The Six Grand Prix laureates in the Europa Nostra Awards were announced in June 2012.
Outstanding achievements in the field of heritage conservation, enhancement and adaptation to new uses, of cultural heritage in several areas; Research which leads to tangible effects in the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage in Europe; Dedicated Service by Individuals or Organisations which is open to individuals or organisations whose contributions over a long period of time demonstrate excellence in the protection, conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage in Europe and far exceeding normal expectations in the given context; and initiatives related to education, training and awareness-raising in the field of tangible cultural heritage, to promote and/or to contribute to the sustainable development of the built environment.
Up to six monetary awards of €10.000 each will be awarded to the top laureates in the above-mentioned categories. The deadline for entries will be 1 October 2012 and award-winning entries will be selected by a European Jury of independent experts by 15 April 2013.
