Two European projects take part at the XIX International AIDS Conference 2012

Two European groups have take part in the 2012 International AIDS Conference held in Washington D.C., USA, between 22 and 27 July. This conference, organized by the International AIDS Society, aims at presenting key scientific advances made in the fight against AIDS and providing a new opportunities to exchange experiences and knowledge.

The International AIDS Conference is the most relevant forum for all parties involved in the fight against HIV, whether they are researchers, policy-makers, patients or anyone else committed toits elimination. The Conference provides an opportunity to examine the current state of research and use shared lessons learnt in order to set common and coordinated actions.

Two European networks funded through the European program for action in the field of health, had the opportunity to participate in the 2012 edition of the International AIDS Conference and to present the experience of the European Networking Zone. These projects took part in the conference with presentations entitle "he HIV community-based testing practices in Europe", from HIV COBATEST project, and presentation "European MSM internet survey on knowledge, attitudes and behaviour" from the EMIS project.

Furthermore, the AIDS Action Europe Network organized parallel activities which included the Regional Session on Europe as well as some workshops which addressed issues such as the value of networkings and collaboration and stations like stigmatization of women with HIV in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
