The European Commission has approved the creation of the business travel joint venture BCD Travel Viajes Iberia by Orizonia and BCD Travel Business Spain the EU Merger Regulation.

Orizonia is a Spanish tour operator and wholesale supplier of charter flights and hotel accommodation services and, through its subsidiary Viajes Iberia, a provider of leisure and business travel agency services. This company is jointly controlled by Grupo Santander of Spain and the Carlyle Group of the USA.

BCD Travel Business Spain provides business travel agency services in Spain. It is part of the BCD Travel Group (Spain) which belongs to BCD Holdings (The Netherlands) and provides business travel agency services world-wide. The newly created joint venture BCD Travel Viajes Iberia will provide business travel agency services in Spain. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
