Call for proposals 2020 - Pilot project - Smart urban mobility involving autonomous vehicles Connect/2020/3205093 Closed!

This is a pilot project that aims at helping cities in the European Union experience the advantages of smart, autonomous mobility and its added value to citizens’ everyday lives. Following this project, and using the scalable model it will provide, cities around Europe could consider adjusting their policies and/or adopt policies for smart urban mobility, thus enhancing the importance of using integrated urban alternative modes with mobility as a service facilities and fleets of efficiently used green vehicles that are adapted to an urban environment.

The goal is twofold, namely to develop a robust urban mentality geared towards using alternative transport solutions and to enhance the importance of green mobility in the European urban environment.

The solution should link disadvantaged urban areas to public transport, link shuttle services in rural areas to replace uneconomic public transport lines, and develop shuttle services related to special needs schools.

As a result, cities should be able to adapt to and adopt policies for smart urban mobility, enhancing the importance of using integrated urban alternative modes, with mobility as a service, facilities and fleets of efficiently used green vehicles that are adapted to an urban environment.
