Horizon Prize - Tactile Displays for the Visually Impaired 2017 H2020-TACTILEPRIZE-2017 Closed!


Los objetivos de este premio son:

  • abordar la brecha en el mercado de las TIC para que una pantalla gráfica táctil haga que las personas con discapacidad visual se beneficien de las tecnologías digitales y mejoren la calidad de sus vidas, especialmente en el ámbito de la educación y navegación
  • estimular los esfuerzos europeos más amplios en el desarrollo de soluciones para esta necesidad social.


The prize will be awarded to the entry that best addresses the following cumulative criteria:

  • Usability: The solution is easy to read, understand, perceive and operate.
  • Affordability: The solution must prove affordable.
  • Portability: The solution is portable.
  • Design: It has a considerate design, it is reliable, robust and safe;
  • Interactivity: The solution allows the users to input content and to manipulate the displayed information (interactivity);
  • Interoperability: The solution should be interoperable with other ICT devices, including other assistive technologies available on the market.
  • Back Translation: The solution allows for the back-translation of braille or tactile graphics into text or images.

European community funding

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 3,00 Million EUR (Global Budget)
