Objectives
The objectives of the Copernicus hackathon programme are:
- To increase the number of users of Copernicus data and services
- To maximize the socio-economic benefits of Copernicus
In order to reach these two objectives, the Copernicus Hackathon Programme shall:
- Raise awareness of the opportunities offered by Copernicus data and services
- Train potential users on how to access and use Copernicus data and services.
- Stimulate the generation of new business ideas based on Copernicus data and services
- Support the development of a thriving Copernicus downstream eco-system, by favouring cooperation between multiple stakeholders (small and large companies, universities and research centres, public authorities...).
Actions
Activities to be funded are those directly related to the organisation of the hackathon:
- Venue (renting a location where to host the hackathon)
- Catering (drinks and beverages to be served on the day of the hackathon)
- Equipment and supplies, in particular IT (servers, cloud services, software licences....) and other technological expenses
- Travel and accommodation of its own staff and reimbursement of the participants to the hackathon
- Communication and promotional activities
- Prizes to support the winning teams
- Employee-related costs
European community funding
The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:
- 1,20 Million EUR (Global Budget)
