9th Call for Innovative Medicines Initiative - IMI2 H2020-JTI-IMI2-2016-09-TWO-STA Closed!
Objectives
The Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 (IMI2) Joint Undertaking has been created following the principles below:
- Research related to the future of medicine should be undertaken in areas where societal, public health and biomedical industry competitiveness goals are aligned and require the pooling of resources and greater collaboration between the public and private sectors, with the involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
- The scope of the initiative should be expanded to all areas of life science research and innovation.
- The areas should be of public health interest, as identified by the World Health Organisation (WHO) report on priority medicines for Europe and the World

The list of topics that will be funded under this call for proposals is:
- Topic 1: IMI2-2016-09-01: Addressing the clinical burden of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI): Evaluation of the burden, current practices and set-up of a European research platform
- Topic 2: IMI2-2016-09-02: Development of immune tolerance therapies for the treatment of rheumatic diseases
- Topic 3: IMI2-2016-09-03: Data quality in preclinical research and development
- Topic 4: IMI2-2016-09-04: Next generation of electronic translational safety – NexGETS
- Topic 5: IMI2-2016-09-05: Identification and validation of biomarkers for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and across the spectrum of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
- Topic 6: IMI2-2016-09-06: Joint influenza vaccine effectiveness studies

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:
- 117,66 Million EUR (Global Budget)
