European Commission in Spain 2016 - Grant programme for initiatives to promote debate and raise awareness of EU political priorities COMM/MAD/2016/04 Closed!

The European Commission Representation in Spain is offering project grants for initiatives by universities, think tanks and other not-for profit organisations operating in any of Spain's autonomous regions to promote awareness of the EU political priorities

The overall  aim is  to  capitalise  on  special  events  and  national  or  regional  initiatives  involving civil  society players  and  opinion-formers  so  as  to  increase  the  general  public's  knowledge  of  the Commission's  activities  in particular in the context of the political priorities.

Projects can take the form of seminars and conferences or more creative forms of outreach and communication activities.  They should  contribute  to  forging  closer  links  between  citizens  and the  institutions  of  the  European  Union,  in  particular  through  better  knowledge  of  the Union’s role and activities in the areas covered by the  political priorities selected for this call. Sharing of best practice and stimulating debate across Spain and with international partners is welcome.

They can consist of single events or a series. Events can be on or off the record (Chatham House rule), while media  coverage and promotion, including digital (internet, social media, webstreaming etc.) of the event and its main conclusions is of great importance.
