Objectives
The Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2014-2020) is implemented by specific programme and work programmes.
The “Excellent science” priority aims to reinforce and extend the excellence of the Union's science base and to consolidate the ERA in order to make the Union's research and innovation system more competitive on a global scale.
Actions
The FET-Proactive call on HPC aims at the next steps for leveraging the existing European strengths for building the next generation of extreme performance computing and taking advantage of the new opportunities created from the transition from peta to exascale computing. The ultimate goal is to achieve world-class extreme scale computing capabilities in platforms, technologies and applications.
Actions foreseen within this call for proposals include the following topics:
- FETHPC-01-2016:Co-design of HPC systems and applications
- FETHPC-02-2017:Transition to Exascale Computing
- FETHPC-03-2017:Exascale HPC ecosystem development
European community funding
The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:
- 41,00 Million EUR (Global Budget)

- 27 September 2016 - 4 years ago (The deadline for the presentation of proposals for area 1)
- 26 September 2017 - 3 years ago (The deadline for the presentation of proposals for area 2)
