The Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2014-2020) is implemented by specific programme and work programmes. 
The “Excellent science” priority aims to reinforce and extend the excellence of the Union's science base and to consolidate the ERA in order to make the Union's research and innovation system more competitive on a global scale. It consists of four specific objectives, and this call for proposal is focused on:
Advanced Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are already established research leaders with a recognised track record of research achievements. Applicant Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.


The call consists of one call with a single deadline applying to each of the three main research domains:
  • Physical Sciences & Engineering (Panels: PE1 – PE10),
  • Life Sciences (Panels: LS1 – LS9),
  • Social Sciences & Humanities (Panels: SH1 – SH6).
Actions foreseen within this call for proposals include the following topic:

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 540,00 Million EUR (Global Budget)
