Call for proposals - Projects to enhance the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime - Action grants 2014 JUST/2014/JACC/AG/PROC Closed!
Objectives
The call for proposals for action grants is based on the 2014 annual work programme of the Justice Programme. It aims to co-fund transnational and/ national projects that contribute to enhancing the rights of persons suspected or accused of crime, in line with the specific objective to facilitate effective access to justice for all.
Actions
The main priority of this call for proposals is to contribute to the correct implementation of the following instruments:
- Directive 2010/64 on the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings;
- Directive 2012/13 on the right to information in criminal proceedings;
- Directive 2013/48 on the right of access to a lawyer in criminal proceedings.
Another priority is to contribute to the preparation of EU action in the following areas:
- How to reduce pre-trial detention.
- Further improving procedural rights of defendants (other than existing EU instruments), including through judicial remedies
European community funding
The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:
- 2,00 Million EUR (Global Budget)
