Call for developing governance for the advancement of Responsible Research and Innovation H2020-GARRI-NCP-2014-1 Closed!

The Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2014-2020) is implemented by specific programme and work programmes.

The aim of the specific objective 'Science with and for society' (Part V) is to build effective cooperation between science and society, to recruit new talent for science and to pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility.

Actions foreseen within this call for proposals include the following topics:

  • GARRI-7-2014: Science with and for Society National Contact Points (NCPs) in H2020. This action focuses on identifying and sharing good practices and raising the general standard of support to programme applicants, taking into account the diversity of stakeholders of 'Science with and for Society' (Support will be given to a network of NCPs in the area of Science with and for Society. Various activities will be developed, such as benchmarking, joint workshops, enhanced cross-border brokerage events, specific training linked to Science with and for Society and twinning schemes, not duplicating actions foreseen in the NCP network for quality standards and horizontal issues under ‘Science with and for Society’. Special attention will be given to enhance the competence of NCPs, including helping less experienced NCPs rapidly acquire the know-how accumulated in other countries.
  • GARRI-8-2014: National Contact Points for quality standards and horizontal issues. National Contact Points need to be fully cognisant with the rules and procedures of Horizon 2020 if they are to provide high quality services to potential applicants. They also need to be proficient in the processes involved in running an NCP service itself. This is a continuous concern, as the programme evolves, lessons are learned, and as newcomers join the NCP network. A body of know-how is already held by the NCPs themselves, which needs to be made generally available, and further enhanced.
