The global objective of this call for proposals is poverty reduction in the context of sustainable development, including the pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and other internationally agreed targets.

The specific objectives of this call for proposals are to support actions which:

  • benefit populations out of reach of mainstream services and resources and excluded from policy making processes;
  • strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations in partner countries (in this case, Jordan), with a view to facilitating their participation in defining sustainable development strategies and in implementing actions aiming at poverty reduction.


Under this call, priority will be given to actions aiming at developing or improving the delivery of services to rural dwellers:

  • Basic: water, sanitation and electricity, especially through the use of sustainable methods;
  • Social: health, vocational training, social assistance / protection;
  • Business: only non-financial.

All proposals must be based on a sound needs assessment and stakeholders' analysis. The logical framework should be carefully designed with realistic, measurable and time bound indicators. An appropriate exit strategy should be developed.

European community funding

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 0,50 Million EUR (Orientation of the budget)
