Objectives

The main objective of this program which includes this call for proposals is to reduce poverty in the context of sustainable development, including meeting the Millennium Development Goals and other internationally agreed objectives.

This is an "actor-oriented" proposal, which seeks to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations and local authorities as a precondition for a more equitable, open and democratic society by supporting their "own initiatives".

Actions

On this call will be given priority to actions aimed at:

  1. Strengthening civil society organizations and grassroots democracy: supporting and strengthening the institutional capacity of non-profit organisations in order to improve their internal organization, strengthen their technical capabilities or financial management and improve its analytical capabilities and public advocacy; promote dialogue, exchange and networking between civil society and other social and economic actors and local authorities (including the dialogue south - south): and to support sustainable social, human, cultural, environmental and economic processes.
  2. Increase public awareness and support for civil society: Actions that increase the commitment of the Venezuelan population with civil society organizations, including actions to increase public awareness and encourage volunteer and financial support to these organizations.

European community funding

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 2,30 Million EUR (Global Budget)
