Call for proposals under the work programme of the ENIAC Joint Undertaking 2011 ENIAC-2011-1 Closed!

The ENIAC Joint Undertaking (JU) was created in order to implement a Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) on Nanoelectronics - a research programme aimed at enhancing the further integration and miniaturisation of devices and increasing their functionalities, and support the implementation of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). One of the ENIAC's primary objectives is to develop core competencies related to nanoelectronics in various fields of application, to enhance competitiveness and sustainability of Europe and allow the emergence of new markets and societal applications.

The 2011 call for proposals provides for a two stages procedure for submission of applications: submission of abstracts of projects and then detailed project proposals.

The activities to be carried out in the context of a project can include:

  • Research and technological development activities, reflecting the core activities of the project, aimed at a significant advance beyond the established state-of-the-art.
  • Demonstration or experimental development activities, designed to prove the viability of new technologies that offer a potential economic advantage, but which cannot be directly commercialised (ie. testing of product-like prototypes).
  • Management activities, over and above the technical management of individual work packages, linking together all the project components and maintaining communications with the ENIAC JU other activities including dissemination, exploitation and market watch.
