Call for proposal for promoting safer use of the Internet and new online technologies Safer Internet plus Closed!


The European Commission has adopted a Work Programme and a Call for proposals to implement the
Safer Internet plus Programme: 

  1. Fighting against illegal content
  2. Tackling unwanted and harmful content
  3. Promoting a safer environment
  4. Awareness-raising


For objetive 1: Fighting against illegal content

  • Integrated network: Hotlines for reporting illegal content.
  • Integrated network: Hotline co-ordinator.
  • Targeted project: Enhancing law enforcement agencies' analysis of illegal material.

For objetive 2: There will not be a call for new actions under this action line in 2008.

For objetive 3: Promoting a safer environment

  • Knowledge enhancement projects: Online victimisation of children.
  • Knowledge enhancement projects: Strengthening the knowledge base.

For objetive 4: Awareness-raising

  • Integrated network: Awareness nodes.
  • Integrated network: Awareness network co-ordinator.
  • Integrated network: Helplines, where children can raise concerns about illegal and harmful content and uncomfortable or scary experiences related to their use of online technologies.


European community funding

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 13,11 Million EUR (Annual budget for 2008)

  • Candidate Countries
