The European Network and Information Security Agency invites citizens to take part in the European Security Month
Launching a campaign to advertise the upcoming pilot European Security Month for cyber security, the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) aims at bringing this initiative to life by involving the European citizens. The European Security Month will take place in October 2012.
The campaign put in place by the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) invites all European citizens to help create the message “WE ARE European Security Month” by sending in pictures of their faces. These picture will be used as a montage to spell out the words “WE ARE….”. Those willing to take part in the campaign will be able to send their pictures until June 30th through ENISA’s European Security Month campaign web page.
The European Security Month pilot will take place in October, promoting cyber security to citizens. Six EU countries have confirmed their participation in this iniciative. Over the European Security Month several activities, such as TV and radio advertisements, social media campaigns, the distribution of educational packages and special events will be organised.
This pilot developed by ENISA is also one of the actions envisaged under the European Commission’s Digital Agenda for Europe, whose action point 32 aiming at strengthening the fight against cybercrime at international level, specifically looks towards a cyber security month. Furthermore, the EU Working Group on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime has identified the need for greater international cooperation in tackling cyber security and cyber crime.
