New branches from the Enterprise Europe Network in India, Canada and China

India is the latest country set to join the Enterprise Europe Network, with three new centres to start operating in New Delhi. The Network also announced that an office will also shortly open in Canada, while four new branches in Shanghai and Nanjing have brought China's total to 27.

SMEs have so far been unable to bounce back to their pre-crisis levels in most member states

The SME Performance Review 2012 report shows that Europe's Small and Medium Sized enterprises (SMEs) continue to strive for recovery. According to the Review, further policy is needed to help SMEs in recovery. The report also argues that the creation of more such enterprises should be an integral part of any growth strategy and suggests appropriate policies measures.

Internal Market Committee approved a resolution setting out proposals to boost greater use of the digital single market

MEPs at the Internal Market Committee in the European Parliament approved a non-binding resolution that analyses and sets out proposals to remove obstacles to greater use of the digital single market. The resolution recommends to introduce a "European Trustmark" certifying that an online shop fully complies with EU law.

The Commission presents its proposals to boost the European industry

The European Commission presented three documents aimed at fostering industry sector. The proposals include an Industry Communication calling for short term focussed investment in key industry sectors with high growth prospects; the 2012 Scoreboard on the Member States industrial competitiveness performance; and also the 2012 European Competitiveness Report, which identifies opportunities to make European industries more competitive.
