Programme to prevent and combat violence against children, young people and women 2007-2013 Daphne III Closed!
Objectives
The general objetives of the programme are:
- To contribute to the protection of children, young people and women against all forms of violence.
- Development of Community policies concerning public health, human rights and gender equality and develop protection of children’s rights.
Actions
- Assisting and encouraging non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other organisations active in this field.
- Developing and implementing awareness-raising.
- Disseminating the results obtained under the Daphne and Daphne II programmes.
- Identifying and enhancing actions contributing to positive treatment of people at risk of violence.
- Setting up and supporting multidisciplinary networks with a view to strengthening cooperation between NGOs and other organisations.
- Ensuring the expansion of evidence-based information and the knowledge base.
- Designing and testing awareness-raising and educational materials regarding the prevention of violence against children, young people and women.
- Studying phenomena related to violence and its impact, both on victims and on society as a whole.
- Developing and implementing support programmes for victims.
- Specific actions taken by the Commission, such as studies and research, opinion polls and surveys, in order to develop indicators and methodologies.
- Specific transnational projects of Community interest involving at least two Member States
- Support for NGO activity.
