The Erasmus Mundus programme's overall aim is to promote European higher education, to help improve and enhance the career prospects of students and to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries, in accordance with EU external policy objectives in order to contribute to the sustainable development of third countries in the field of higher education.

• 106,20 Million EUR (Global Budget)

• 30 April 2010 - 15 years ago (Deadline for the presentation of proposals)

• Call for proposals — EACEA/29/09 for the implementation of Erasmus Mundus II (Legal base)

Opened to the following bodies or institutes with legal status established in the covered areas:

• Universities
• Enterprises

Bodies or institutes must have their registered legal seat in one of the countries taking part in the Programme which are:

• European Union (EU)
• Third countries
• European Free Trade Association (EFTA)
• European Economic Area (EEA)
• Candidate Countries
