Call for proposals - Sustainable Industry Low Carbon scheme (SILC) I - Short-term innovation measures 67-G-ENT-CIP-13-D-N03S02 Closed!

Objectives

The overall objective of the call is to support actions that will enable energy-intensive manufacturing and process industries covered by the European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS) to cope with the challenges of a low carbon economy and to maintain their competitiveness.

More specifically, the call seeks to identify and select sector-specific or cross-sectoral industrial projects that will develop and deploy cost-efficient technological or non-technological innovation measures, or a combination of both, for improving the GHG emission performance of installations under the EU ETS.

Actions

Proposals for SILC I projects must

  • present one or several concrete measures that demonstrably lead to a reduction of the specific GHG emission intensity of an installation carrying out an eligible activity
  • demonstrate the feasibility of the measure(s) proposed, including a comprehensive description of the necessary technical integration and/or adaptation work
  • demonstrate the extent to which the measure(s) proposed will be applicable and are of benefit to other installations within the sector or sub-sector ("market replication effect") and/or to other installations of different sectors or sub-sectors ("spill-over effect")
  • contain a comprehensive cost/benefit analysis of the measure(s) proposed
  • contain an assessment of its likely impact on the competitiveness of the industrial sector or sub-sector concerned, or – where applicable - any other industrial sector
