The registration for the Open Days 2011 is now opened

The OPEN DAYS is a key event at which cities and regions showcase their capacity for creating growth and jobs, implementing European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local level for good European governance. The preliminary programme for this event can now be downloaded, and registration is available in the event website.

This year's theme for the Open Days is “Investing in Europe’s future: Regions and cities delivering smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. This is event is conceived and developed by the EU Committee of the Regions and the European Commission, Directorate-General for Regional Policy and is organised in partnership with regions and cities from all over Europe, and including contributions by companies, financial institutions and international associations and academic organisations. Last year's focus was "Europe 2020: Competitiveness, co-operation and cohesion for all regions".

About 100 sessions among which there will be workshops, debates, exhibitions and networking opportunities for the about 6,000 participants, are organised in the framework of the Open Days. Each event held in Brussels is classified according to the 2011 thematic priorities and a typology of events. The latter can either take the form of workshops or debates.

Online registration to these seminars is opened until 28 September 2011. This edition, which will take place between 10 and 13 October 2011 in Brussels and the preliminary programme is already available.
