    This is a research led project and aims to consolidate the CSC IT infrastructure in to a single robust and secure data centre that will enable research of the highest international quality to be supported.

    At present the IT infrastructure is distributed across several small data centres that are inadequate for the future requirements of the CSC. To fulfil the future requirements the CSC has secured a 123 sq. m facility within Imperial Colleges estate at the Hammersmith Hospital campus and requests for interest are sought from appropriate organisations to identify a turn key solution for the design, fit out and mobilisation of a new data centre.

    The CSC requires ever faster access to data, higher storage capacity and longer data retention periods. The new facility must provide a robust and reliable solution to data management whilst incorporating enhanced security and energy efficiencies through innovative design and utilisation of state of the art technologies.

    Description of particular conditions: The government has set out the need for greater transparency across its operations to enable the public to hold public bodies and politicians to account. This includes commitments relating to public expenditure, intended to help achieve better value for money.
