    description and objectives

    The global objective of this Call for Proposals is to support democracy and good governance in Lebanon. The specific objective of this Call for Proposals is to support the reform of the electoral framework in Lebanon in line with international standards and the recommendations of the European Electoral Observation Missions deployed in 2005 and 2009.

    Types of activities (The following examples are not exhaustive):

    • Legal drafting and comparative international expertise/best practices.‬
    • Public awareness campaigns to improve the understanding of electoral reform and reform options.
    • Advocacy with political groups and parliamentary subcommittees on providing advice on the various issues.‬
    • Awareness campaigns with youth groups to mobilize them in order to support a lowering of voting age.‬
    • Awareness campaigns with women groups to support the increase of women presenting themselves as candidates, either independently or through party structures.‬
    • Public information campaigns to enhance the secrecy of vote, encourage increased voter participation and confidence in the electoral process‬.

    • Non-governmental organization
    • Local authorities
    • Regional authorities
    • Universities
    • Any legal organisation

    Bodies or institutes must have their registered legal seat in one of the countries taking part in the Programme which are:
    • Third countries
    european community funding
    The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:
    • Orientation of the budget: 2.00 M€
