The grants shall initiate within Member States the start of a dialogue with citizens and the launch of an information campaing on shale gas before decision on its potential industrial exploitation are taken.

actions

Beneficiaries are expected to organise a public hearing in one or more regions where shale gas exploration projects have been started or are concretely planned. Discussion at public hearings should take into account regional and local specificities as well as the issues addressed by the EU level studies. Public hearings should be preceded by online consultations in the Member State's official language and/or regionally used languages on the relevant aspects to be discussed at the above-mentioned hearings.

Bodies or institutes must have their registered legal seat in one of the countries taking part in the Programme which are:

• European Union (EU)
• European Economic Area (EEA)
• Candidate Countries

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

• Global Budget: 0.20 M€
