Objectives
Promoting sustainable management of the natural and human environment and its resources by advancing our knowledge on the interactions between the biosphere, ecosystems and human activities, and developing new technologies, tools and services, in order to address in an integrated way global environmental issues. Emphasis will be put on prediction of climate, ecological, earth and ocean system changes, on tools and on technologies for monitoring, prevention and mitigation of environmental pressures and risks including on health and for the sustainability of the natural and man-made environment.
The 2013 Environment (including climate change) work programme, under the heading 'Transformative and Responsible Innovation', will respond to global societal challenges in the framework of resource efficiency and climate resilience. Specific objectives for the environment and climate research are:
- Addressing major societal challenges
- Developing and strengthening European leadership in environmental innovation;
- Promoting and facilitating knowledge transfer, assessment, uptake and exploitation of research and innovation data and results in policy, industry and society.
Actions
Challenge 6.3. Improving resource efficiency
- ENV.2013.WATER INNO&DEMO-1: Water innovation demonstration projects. One or more proposals can be selected.
- ENV.2013.WATER INNO&DEMO-2 Ensuring the integration of water and innovation demonstration projects and support to trans-national networks of procurers. One or more proposals can be selected.
European community funding
The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:
- 40,00 Million EUR (Orientation of the budget)
