Specific Programme "Cooperation" of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities (2007 to 2013)

description and objectives

This ERANET aims at coordinating the research efforts of the participating Member States and Regions in several fields. Its main objective is to reduce fragmentation of research efforts made at national level in Europe in order to:

• Achieve critical mass, to ensure better use of scare resources
• Join Forces to provide common answers to common problems.
• Address global issues.
• Develop common approaches (e.g. ethics, standards).
• Address specific geographical issues.
• Speak with “one voice” to third countries.
